Visiting Clarinetist|Paul Champion

In 1989 – 1999, he was the member of SBS Television and Radio Youth Orchestra. Since 1998 to 1999, he joined Sydney Symphony Sinfonia.  In 1999 – 2003, he was the Casual Player with Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, Sydney Opera House Orchestra and Sydney Concert Orchestra.

Since 2006, he has been the Guest Principal with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra (April 2016), Australian World Orchestra (India Tour November 2015), Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Symphony Orchestra, and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. Meanwhile since 2004, he has been the Principal Clarinet of Orchestra Victoria.

Since 2004, he has performed the Chamber repertoire with musicians from Orchestra Victoria (including Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet, Brahm’s Clarinet Quintet, Janacek’s Mladi, Dvorak’s Serenade, Mozart’s Gran Partita). Since 2006, he has been the

Clarinet Teacher, Chamber Music Tutor & Examiner of Melbourne University  and Monash University . In 2007, 2009 and 2011, he performed Chamber Music Festival in Ostersund, Sweden (including Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet, Schubert’s Shepherd on the Rock, Mahler’s Symphony No.4 for Chamber Ensemble)

In 1998,he earned the Fellowship of Music A.M.E.B. (FMusA). In 2000, he studied in London with teachers including Andrew Marriner, Julian Farrell and Anthony Pike.
